Welcome to episode 43 of Bright Ones! The 3 minute podcast that sniffs out uplifting news that you may have missed! Let's start sniffing!!!! Today we have GOOD news for Canada! More importantly for Canada's Anthem and professional hockey! First a 1 minute history lesson. The NHL (National Hockey League) started back in Montreal in 1917. The league consisted of just a Canadian teams initially. Hence why it is National and not International! In 1920 the NHL expanded to Boston, Chicago and New York. Despite becoming international, Hockey is and will always be at the core of Canada's heart! Tonight is game 7 in the NHL playoffs that decides if the last Canadian team in the playoffs, the Montreal Canadians, moves on or if the Buffalo Sabres proceed! Either way, this is good news for Canada, their fans and their Anthem. Most people know that Buffalo and Canada are as close as cousins! Toronto and Buffalo share a great lake and a lot history. What is less known is that Buffalo has the only US arena that always sings both anthems! Buffalo does this for unity and to always praise the heart of hockey in North America! So no matter what happens tonight you will still hear both the Anthems of United States and Canada in the next playoff round! We are biased on who we would prefer but either way, this is a win-win for both countries and a sign of unity in trying times. So tonight, in a little rust belt town we celebrate the "Home of the brave" who is also "GloriUS and free"! That's our simple little bit of sunshine infused good news for today! Until next time, keep an eye open for the hidden wins and like me TRY to be a goodboy! WOOF!
