Scientists in Brazil found that a simple daily vitamin D supplement may help breast cancer chemotherapy work better. In a small study of 80 women, 43% of patients taking vitamin D saw their cancer disappear after chemotherapy, compared with 24% taking a placebo. The researchers are clear: this needs bigger studies, but it is a hopeful, low-cost clue worth chasing.
